About Lisa
I’m a midwife and breastfeeding specialist, based in Putney, South West London. I support families with practical, evidence-based guidance as they learn to feed their babies.
The early days of feeding a newborn can bring many questions. Understanding how milk production works, recognising feeding cues, and making small adjustments to positioning can make an enormous difference to how feeding feels for both parent and baby.
Through my work as a midwife and breastfeeding specialist, I support parents both during pregnancy and after their baby arrives, helping them understand how feeding works and navigate common challenges with confidence.
My Approach to Feeding Support
Breastfeeding is often described as “natural”, but that doesn’t always mean it comes easily.
Newborn feeding is influenced by many factors, including positioning, milk production, infant behaviour and the recovery of the parent after birth. When families understand why babies feed the way they do, many challenges become far easier to navigate.
My aim is to provide calm, practical guidance so parents can understand what is happening and feel confident responding to their baby.
I support families with:
• breastfeeding positioning and latch
• recognising feeding cues and patterns
• milk supply concerns
• expressing and storing milk
• bottle feeding and paced feeding
• navigating common early challenges

Prepare in pregnancy. Parent with confidence.
Many parents tell me they wish they had understood how breastfeeding works before their baby arrived.
Preparing during pregnancy can make the early weeks feel much calmer and more manageable.

If you’d like personalised support with feeding after your baby arrives, I offer feeding consultations and practical guidance to help you navigate challenges with confidence.
Professional Experience and Training
I completed my training to become a midwife in 2016 and have worked in NHS community midwifery as well as in hospital settings across antenatal, birthing and postnatal care.
Alongside my midwifery work, I have undertaken extensive additional lactation-focused education to provide enhanced infant feeding support for families. I also regularly attend professional training as part of my continuing professional development, ensuring that the guidance I provide reflects current evidence and best practice.
Before training as a midwife, I worked in the corporate world, an experience that continues to shape the way I support families today. I understand that many parents appreciate clear explanations, practical guidance and the opportunity to understand why things work the way they do.

A Little About Me
Alongside my work supporting families, I’m also a mum of two.
My own experiences of pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding gave me a very real appreciation for how intense and transformative the early weeks with a baby can be. Like many parents, I discovered that even with professional knowledge, the reality of caring for a newborn brings its own surprises and learning curves.
Both of my children were breastfed and, while feeding worked well for our family overall, it certainly wasn’t without its challenges. I was very grateful to have the knowledge and support around me as I navigated those early weeks.
Becoming a parent deepened my understanding of how important calm, practical support can be during pregnancy and the early months of a baby’s life.
My children continue to remind me daily how remarkable — and sometimes humbling — the experience of parenting can be.
